Weddings, Birthdays and a Beach Break!

Calligraphy filled in the gaps of the week nicely.  Working on invitations for both a wedding (Congratulations Katie!) and an 80th Birthday (shhh, it's a surprise!) kept me on my toes with busy writing.  My ring finger has finally given in and will hopefully toughen up and allow a callous soon.  I suppose that wishing for a hardened patch of skin on one's hand isn't the dream of most people, let alone women in their 20's, but as a Calligrapher I'm deeming it a necessity.

Also on this entry are some lovely beach photographs.  I must be honest and fess-up to the timeframe of the beach shots.  They are in fact from last weekend.  Time seems to slip away quicker and quicker.  Thank goodness for work being the distraction!  I hope that you enjoy looking at the images as much as I enjoyed being captivated by the real life scenes as they unfolded:

Luck of the Irish

The Luck of the Irish seemed to be passing goodness my way this week.  Time was spent documenting an 83rd birthday celebration through pictures (Happy Birthday Colleen!  Much love!), being asked to photograph a wedding, being invited to a friend's art exhibit (Congratulations Veronica!) that will showcased at an Antique Row gallery (life list item now checked off), a calligraphy job for an 80th Birthday (Happy Birthday Jerry!) and being asked to contribute to an up-and-coming online magazine.  Add a wonderful Saint Patrick's Day outing to the equation and it's a sum of giddy excitement!  This entry boasts some images from Colleen's Birthday and a picture of the Bridal Shower Invitation calligraphy from last week:

'Twas a Delray Affair...

Meet Pierce!  Isn't he the cutest?  I'm sure that his parents might chuckle that this is his introductory picture but I just couldn't help myself as this is just the most notable Pierce expression!  We set off onto the beach of Delray canopied under a calming afternoon sky.  The beach was dotted with the brilliant blue cabana chaises and so was instantly enticing!  We put our stuff down and the picture taking began.  Please enjoy some of the candid shots from the day:

From Left- Pierce being silly for the camera, Pierce showing amusement from watching an iPhone video of himself;  Mom, Dad and son together on the beach;Pierce liking the beach but not enjoying being stopped from munching on bites of the sand as shown in his expression; Pierce along the shoreline looking like quite the walking machine;        First experience of sand in his toes with Daddy's help.

Starting of March the "Write" Way

This week was busy and so fun!  All of Tuesday was spent using the "Duke Blue" on both place cards and table cards for a Duke University event.  The pretty blue contrasted nicely on the Crane White cards.  The end of the week entailed the addressing of envelopes for a business announcement.  Congratulations to Jack!  A small perk was coming across an address in the lovely town of Tallahassee.  This weekend's project will be to address some less formal invitations for a Bridal Shower.  They should turn out looking quite nice so hopefully there will be a picture or two from it to display!
